July 2014-and eventful month!!

July 1, 2014:
What we learned today while going through the car wash: Easton thinks he is going on a roller coaster ride and screams with delight, Adelyn is terrorized by the noise and things brushing the car and screams as if her life is being threatened. Hope she gets used to it because we just bought an unlimited pass for the month :/

July 3, 2014:
David woke up this morning with pains in his side.  He headed off to clinicals unsure of whether or not he could make it.  Around lunch time, I got a call from him saying that a friend from school was taking him to urgent care.  He was in such severe pain and shaking on the floor of one of his classrooms.  We were unsure of what was going on.  Urgent care couldn't do anything so they sent us to the hospital.  David was miserable and in so much pain, even with pain meds.  Diagnosis:  3 small kidney stones.  We were set to leave for San Diego around 4 this afternoon but that didn't happen.  Around 8p.m. David was discharged from the hospital.  We made it to San Diego with my family (with an early early morning drive on July 4th) and spent the day at Sea World. Fireworks at Sea World were absolutely stunning! David was in pain on and off throughout the trip.  I also got pretty sick, not sure if food poisoned and Easton and David spent the way up to San Diego taking turns throwing up.  I had to drive the entire way, anxiety ridden, through mountain roads and steep hills. I truly think Heavenly Father gave me the strength because i'm usually paralyzed with fear driving on mountainous roads.  I also knew that David was unable to drive so if I didn't, we wouldn't make our vacation.

The drive home and for the next two days after, David was extremely sick.  His lack of drinking enough fluids while we were at the beach probably dehydrated his body (along with all the ocean sea salt swallowed) and didn't allow him to pass the last kidney stone (Yes, the WHOLE trip David spent trying to pass those dang stones).  Finally, we took him back to urgent care (he was throwing up constantly for a day or two and felt like he was going to die if he didn't get fluids in his body) where they gave him pain meds and a bag of IV fluid.  We believe the IV is what saved him and help him get the fluids he needed to pass that last stone.

Today was Chik-Fil-A dress like a cow day.  Our family scores free meals for each person.  Moo!
