July 2014-and eventful month!!

July 1, 2014:
What we learned today while going through the car wash: Easton thinks he is going on a roller coaster ride and screams with delight, Adelyn is terrorized by the noise and things brushing the car and screams as if her life is being threatened. Hope she gets used to it because we just bought an unlimited pass for the month :/

July 3, 2014:
David woke up this morning with pains in his side.  He headed off to clinicals unsure of whether or not he could make it.  Around lunch time, I got a call from him saying that a friend from school was taking him to urgent care.  He was in such severe pain and shaking on the floor of one of his classrooms.  We were unsure of what was going on.  Urgent care couldn't do anything so they sent us to the hospital.  David was miserable and in so much pain, even with pain meds.  Diagnosis:  3 small kidney stones.  We were set to leave for San Diego around 4 this afternoon but that didn't happen.  Around 8p.m. David was discharged from the hospital.  We made it to San Diego with my family (with an early early morning drive on July 4th) and spent the day at Sea World. Fireworks at Sea World were absolutely stunning! David was in pain on and off throughout the trip.  I also got pretty sick, not sure if food poisoned and Easton and David spent the way up to San Diego taking turns throwing up.  I had to drive the entire way, anxiety ridden, through mountain roads and steep hills. I truly think Heavenly Father gave me the strength because i'm usually paralyzed with fear driving on mountainous roads.  I also knew that David was unable to drive so if I didn't, we wouldn't make our vacation.

The drive home and for the next two days after, David was extremely sick.  His lack of drinking enough fluids while we were at the beach probably dehydrated his body (along with all the ocean sea salt swallowed) and didn't allow him to pass the last kidney stone (Yes, the WHOLE trip David spent trying to pass those dang stones).  Finally, we took him back to urgent care (he was throwing up constantly for a day or two and felt like he was going to die if he didn't get fluids in his body) where they gave him pain meds and a bag of IV fluid.  We believe the IV is what saved him and help him get the fluids he needed to pass that last stone.

July 11, 2014:
Today was Chik-Fil-A dress like a cow day.  Our family scores free meals for each person.  Moo!

July 21, 2014:
David used our pogo passes and spent the day at Sunsplash!

June 6, 2014:
First on the agenda tonight: free krispy kreme donuts courtesy of national donut day! And finally ending with cafe Rio and some bowling. ...With two crazy kids who wanted to run/crawl through the place the entire time we attempted to bowl. We decided we will snag a babysitter on the next bowling adventure lol

June 18, 2014:
David and I are getting our Solar City Solar Panels installed in our house in the next few weeks and we are so excited. We will be helping the environment by leasing the panels and saving money on our monthly SRP/electric bill. If anyone is interested in getting Solar Panels...let us know!

June 19, 2014:
Enjoyed a little splash pad fun under the Gilbert water tower tonight.

June 27th 2014:
Our solar panels got installed!

May 3, 2014:
I was floored this morning when Adelyn started fussing a little bit and I looked at my clock to see it was 8:30a.m.! I haven't slept this late in three years since Easton was born! Thank you fathers and sons campout and an extra tired baby for allowing this mom to get some good rest!

Next week our family starts a new and crazy adventure. We will be living on less and studying a LOT more. Here's to the start of David's nursing school program and the hope for a step up in life in a little over 16 months! Like the Little Engine that Could..... "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...." :)

May 8, 2014:
Easton and I would have totally won on America's Funniest Video's this afternoon if someone had captured a video of us trying to feed my mom's chicken's and quail. I tried to collect eggs and change the chicken's water when a chicken escaped and I tried to run out and save it before the dog went after it. I caught it, tried to resume my changing the food when another chicken escaped-I hollered for Easton to capture it (I'm afraid of the chicken's lol). I ran into the house briefly to get more chicken feed and found Adelyn rummaging through a bag of chips that was left out and dumping them on the floor. Don't worry mom-we vaccumed! I'm tired now :)

May 16, 2014:
It was 104 degrees today in Mesa, hottest day of the year so far, so we hit the splash pads at Espee Park in Chandler.

May 19, 2014:
SO excited to have finally booked a vacation home in San Diego. I will be able to enjoy the cool 70-80 degree weather, fireworks and beach with my family this Fourth of July instead of burning in 110 degree scorching hot Arizona weather!

May 23, 2014:
I'm not really sure how many more times my heart can handle finding scorpions in the house. I'm grateful my sixth sense is being able to find them, even in the most unlikely circumstances, before they have ever stung anyone in our family. Tonight I found one nestled in the towel that I was about to wrap around Easton as I pulled him out of his bath. So thankful David was home to dispose of the creature....ahhhh!

May 24, 2014:
We had such a fun time yesterday at the Val Vista lakes beach pool with some of our friends.  Our friend Marisa Haws invited us and a few friends from the ward!

May 30, 2014:
Easton is on Day 3 of potting training (day/awake) and so far so good. It's just exhausting taking him every 30 minutes but the payoff will be great....less diapers to buy!

April 2014

Little Adelyn hits 8 months and is as precious as can be!  So happy to come home each day after work to see this sweet girl (and of course Easton too!)
April 21, 2014:
I accidentally scared off a momma quail when I opened my backyard gate to work on our sprinkler timer. There were at least 6 babies...with an additional one running under the neighbors fence (who has dogs). In an attempt to gather them and prevent more from going under the gate, we think momma abandoned the babies. They look like they just hatched :( So David now has to drive almost to Paradise Valley to take them to a refuge in hopes they will survive. Hope the precious little things make it.

April 24, 2014:
What an afternoon....! Traffic was horrendous on the way home from work and grandma is in the hospital after having a stroke a few days ago. She isn't doing well :( Just got done visiting her and my mom at Banner Gateway.

April 28, 2014:
Just finished visiting my grandma... hospice nurse says it should be just a few short hours as she is breathing very shallow. The sweet experience made me realize how precious time is here on earth. We need to spend a lot more time loving and serving those around us....even as busy as we are with our own lives. Will miss you grandma but know we will be reunited someday ♥

April 29, 2014:
Grandma passed away at 3:50p.m. this afternoon. I got to see her moments after and she looked so at peace. I'm sure she was welcomed by her husband and son and a host of other angelic family members and friends. ♥ You will forever be in our hearts grandma. So thankful for how much you have blessed the lives of our family.

I'm feeling more and more confident about David's change of career choice. (Did we mention he got into nursing school at GCU and starts May 5th!?) Just got a letter from a Philadelphia PA school he applied to....2400 applicants and only 55 are chosen. Trying to get into PA school is like trying to win the lottery. :/

Niece Kiara is into Madagascar cockroaches.  My brother actually gave these to her for her birthday!
Pictures from Kiara's birthday party: One of the children drew a nice tattoo on David's arm
March 10, 2014:
Our family went to the zoo today with my mom and sister Heidi.  We dressed up Adelyn in a cute "giraffe" outfit but within minutes of dressing her, she had a poop explosion.

Easton had his first dentist appointment ever!
ABC Dentistry rocks! Dr. Michaud was amazing with Easton. He showed me a new hold so that Easton can't get away when I brush his teeth lol. Easton earned several toy prizes AND a free kids meal from Culvers for having no cavities!

Easton was a great little helper and helped me make some strawberry jam!
March 22, 2014:
Went to my first Lady Antebellum concert with my sisters Heidi and Stacey.  It was SO amazing!

Today we also took pictures of all of the cousins all my side of the family since David, Chris and Jessica were on a backpacking trip.

Easton's list of excuses: drink, lotion and message, book, song, can't sleep, hug mommy, and my favorite... My bed has germs in it.

We planted a garden for the first time and it grew like crazy!  Pictures posted soon!
